The New Management Team

Sandra Breka and Dr. Bernhard Straub jointly manage the Robert Bosch Stiftung, following the retirement of Prof. Dr. Joachim Rogall, previous Chairman of the Board of Management, at the end of June.

As of 1 July 2021, Sandra Breka and Dr. Bernhard Straub jointly manage the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Sandra Breka has been on the Board of Management since 2017. She is responsible for the Global Issues funding area, the Strategic Partnerships unit, and the Robert Bosch Academy. Dr. Bernhard Straub (57) joined the Foundation from Robert Bosch GmbH, where he was responsible for the Electrical Drives division since 2014. Prior to this, he held various positions in the company, including in India and Japan. In the new dual leadership, he will be responsible for the Health and Education funding areas and the associated subsidiaries.

“With Bernhard Straub we have gained an experienced manager for the Robert Bosch Stiftung. We look forward to working with him and are convinced that he will provide important impetus for the Foundation’s economic, cultural, and substantive development,” says Dr. Christof Bosch, Chairman of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s Board of Trustees.

Joachim Rogall: Departure after 25 years

Having reached retirement age, the previous Chairman of the Board of Management, Prof. Dr. Joachim Rogall, departed with effect from June 30, 2021. Prof. Dr. Rogall, an historian who has worked at the Robert Bosch Stiftung since 1996, had been on the board since 2013 and its chairman as of 2017. Before joining the Board of Management, as Division Director for International Understanding he had been responsible for the Foundation's activities in Central Europe, Southeastern Europe, the CIS, and China. 

Dr. Christof Bosch thanked Joachim Rogall at his farewell: “Over the past 25 years, Joachim Rogall shaped the Robert Bosch Stiftung with his extraordinary commitment and an impressive sensitivity for socially relevant issues. We thank him sincerely for this commitment and for the foresight with which he has helped position the Foundation for the future.”
