Assessing Policy Approaches to Halt Deforestation in EU Agricultural Supply Chains

Study on five possible policy approaches

Forests are essential to limit global warming to 1.5°C, as they are important carbon sinks and contribute significantly to biodiversity. However, global agricultural trade leads to exhaustive deforestation, including European supply chains. Therefore, Germanwatch has analyzed, compared and evaluated five EU policy approaches to promote deforestation-free supply chains.
