The European Press Prize is awarded in several categories, including the Migration Journalism Award, the Investigative Reporting Award, the Distinguished Reporting Award, the Public Discourse Award, the Innovation Award and a Special Award. The prize is overseen by a Preparatory Committee, known as the PrepCom, composed of members from different European countries. Once the entries have been submitted, the PrepCom is responsible for selecting the shortlist for each award category. Each year, hundreds of pieces and projects arrive in various forms, written in all possible European languages and covering a wide range of topics. This thorough process aims to narrow down the entries to a select few that will be presented to the judges. The PrepCom will convene on March 11 at the Robert Bosch Stiftung to review the submissions and discuss the selection for this year's awards.
