Markus heads our Ukraine desk. After studying history and political science in Mainz, Germany, and Riga, Latvia, and working for ZDF television, he taught at several universities in Latvia and worked at the Museum of Jews in Latvia in Riga. In 2002, he joined the Robert Bosch Foundation, where for almost 20 years he has been responsible for projects in Central and Eastern Europe and for setting up the International Alumni Centre in Berlin. His work focuses on civil society in Ukraine.
