As Head of Global Issues, Markus is responsible for the topics of democracy and immigration society (and is also team leader for the latter). After studying history and political science in Mainz and Riga (Latvia) and working for ZDF, he taught at several universities in Latvia and worked at the "Jews in Latvia" museum in Riga. He has been working for the Robert Bosch Stiftung since 2002, where he was responsible for the establishment of the International Alumni Centre in Berlin, among other things, and places social cohesion at the centre of his work.
