Programs for Political Decision-Makers
Voices from politics
About the project
For many years, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has been running programs with political decision-makers, and promoting comparable projects by third parties. These programs create space for confident and results-oriented cross-party exchange, beyond the daily political routine. Through study trips, workshops, specialist discussions, and online briefings, participants engage with current affairs and future challenges in the context of a globally networked world. As a result, they broaden their perspectives, deepen their knowledge and strengthen their skills, all of which are relevant for evidence-based and sustainable decision-making.
FAQ
We give answers to the frequently asked questions about our programs.
Why are we offering these programs?
The world is now more interdependent than ever before. Global challenges such as climate change, migration, intra- and inter-state conflicts, and technological change are all deeply interconnected and can only be solved together. Acute crises of unknown magnitude, such as pandemics, also require rapid responses and coordinated decisions. This complexity represents a challenge for political decision-makers: they must make swift and sometimes radical decisions, which must also be sustainable and long-term.
What do we want to achieve?
Social debates and political decisions must be conducted in a complex and interconnected world, taking global perspectives into account. In this context, knowledge of current academic expertise and innovative solutions is essential. Through its programs, the Robert Bosch Stiftung promotes exchange between relevant stakeholders and thus strengthens evidence-based decision-making.
How do the programs work?
The Robert Bosch Stiftung develops programs and implements them independently, as well as through the support of established partners. In addition, we implement programs in cooperation with renowned institutions, or support individual third-party initiatives. In this way, the Robert Bosch Stiftung supports Open European Dialogue.
The political programs are implemented in various cross-party formats. Alongside international study visits lasting several days, themed workshops and seminars will also be held in cooperation with renowned academic partners in the U.S. and Asia. In addition, the Robert Bosch Stiftung regularly offers online briefings.
In terms of program content, the Robert Bosch Stiftung focuses on the interests and needs of participants. For the implementation, we rely on our own expertise and networks, and on partnerships with international think tanks. Moreover, we also involve prominent experts from academic, media, politics, and civil society to provide impetus.
The majority of our programs are aimed at members of the German Bundestag, yet political decision-makers from other countries will also be considered. Participation is by invitation only.
