Foresight, Wirkung & Strategie
How can we act today to be effective tomorrow? In this thematic area, we combine strategic foresight with impact-oriented philanthropy to identify emerging trends early, enable informed decision-making, and drive sustainable social change.
What we do
Our world is in a constant state of transformation, characterized by complex and diverse developments. Climate change, technological innovations, demographic shifts and geopolitical changes are just some of the challenges that await us in the coming decades. The work of the Foresight, Impact & Strategy team ensures that the Foundation's activities are proactive and forward-looking. At the same time, the foundation's primary goal is to have a positive impact by contributing to the solution of these challenges.
Ensuring Sustainability and Legitimacy
Strategic Foresight is a systematic approach to examining and interpreting future developments. It involves developing possible future scenarios, assessing opportunities and risks and deriving strategic options for action. The objective is to make well-founded decisions and align our foundation's work with future challenges and opportunities in the best possible way. By proactively identifying trends and developments at an early stage, the Foresight, Impact & Strategy team aims to make the Robert Bosch Stiftung future-proof and resilient. We promote innovation and identify new ideas and approaches that contribute to solving social challenges, while also examining our role within philanthropy and the role of philanthropy in society. By sharing knowledge and experience with our partners and within the sector, we strive to build a better future together.
Impact-oriented Foundation
Work
Impact-oriented activities have been systematically implemented as the foundation's working approach since 2016 under the heading MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Adaptation and Learning). We want to make a sustainable contribution to systemic change and use the tools available to us strategically, analytically and with the necessary flexibility. Incorporating continuous learning into the further development of our strategies has become both an attitude and a lived practice.
