On 24 July 2026, the Russian Ministry of Justice added Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH to the list of so-called “undesirable organizations.” We regret this decision.
In our view, this step makes it more difficult for people and institutions to engage in dialogue and cooperate across borders. Since its founding, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has stood for dialogue, mutual understanding, and international cooperation, particularly in challenging political times. We remain firmly committed to these values.
Since 2015, Russia has placed around 380 international and German organizations on this list, including Deutsche Welle, Human Rights Watch, and the Körber Foundation.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung does not maintain any offices or branches in Russia. At the same time, we are aware of the potential consequences of this decision for individuals and organizations connected to us or involved in other forms of cooperation with our foundation. We are therefore carefully assessing the impact of this decision on existing partnerships and activities. The safety and protection of those affected remain our highest priority.
For more than six decades, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has been committed to fostering peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and strong civil societies. Since the 1970s, we have built and maintained a wide range of relationships and partnerships across Eastern Europe, initially in Poland, and since 1993 in Ukraine and since 1999 in Russia. Over the years, we have initiated and supported numerous programs and initiatives that promote exchange, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
