As director, Antje is responsible for the topics of democracy and inequality in the Global Issues topic area. The Democracy Team focuses on democratic literacy and innovative formats for citizen participation. The work of the Inequality Team focuses on people particularly affected by inequalities, and seeks to support them in taking a decisive role in shaping practices and solutions to reduce inequality.
After completing her studies in English/American Studies and Social Sciences with stays abroad in Canada and the United States, Antje worked as a researcher at Humboldt University at the Demography Chair. She then worked for the transatlantic education network Humanity in Action in the field of resilient democracy, human rights and remembrance culture. Since 2023, she has been a member of the board of directors of Humanity in Action in Germany.
