Ellen Ehmke

Senior Expert

Ellen has been working as a Senior Expert at the Robert Bosch Stiftung since 2021. Within the Global Issues area of support, her focus is on developing cross cutting thematic strategies and monitoring impact. She is driven by the conviction that social and environmental justice can be combined with democratic participation to enable a life in dignity for all. Central to Ellen’s work is addressing intersecting inequalities that stand in the way of this goal. Previously, she worked for Oxfam Germany and other organizations at the intersection of research and practice in the fields of youth and education. She completed her PhD in political science at the University of Kassel, focusing on social policy in India. She writes on inequality, social protection in development contexts, and labor market policies for both specialist and general audiences.
