About the project

Back in 2014, a number of Ukrainian mediators joined forces in the "Ukrainian Community of Dialogue Practitioners" network to coordinate their activities to promote dialogue and overcome trauma in society. With the start of the Russian war of aggression in 2022, it became clear that this loose association was no longer sufficient in the face of the immense challenges. At the same time, there is a great need to strengthen the voice of Ukrainian civil society in the sustainable reconstruction of the country.
As the Robert Bosch Stiftung, we have been supporting the work of the Community of Dialogue Practitioners since 2023, with a particular focus on professionalising and consolidating the network. This will not only enable to expand the work with those affected on the ground, but also to communicate effectively with the public and political decision-makers - be it by presenting the network in social media or by publishing political position papers.

Why we run this project

Since the start of the Russian war of aggression in 2022, there has been an immense need for mediators who can help resolve conflicts within society. The Community of Dialogue Practitioners brings together the relevant organisations and has the necessary structures in place with its mobile teams, but needs support to manage its work in the face of huge challenges.

What we want to achieve

As the Robert Bosch Stiftung, we are helping to professionalise and consolidate the network so that it can meet the major challenges facing Ukrainian society in the long term. For example, we have helped to set up a general secretariat to provide organisational support to the individual members and to coordinate overarching processes.

How the project works

This is flexible start-up funding for the network, so there is no classic project cycle.
